A film called "Tiku Weds Sheru" has recently been released on Amazon Prime Video. I dedicated two hours of my time to watching this film, and now I hesitate to waste two more hours writing a review for it. However, since you insist, let's delve into it.
The storyline of "Tiku Weds Sheru" is one that has been explored countless times in the realm of cinema. I say countless because I, myself, have witnessed numerous variations of it. It revolves around a girl who aspires to become a Bollywood actress and sets her sights on Mumbai. However, she is confronted with the harsh reality of having to make compromises along the way. While this premise has been examined in many films, "Tiku Weds Sheru" fails to bring anything fresh or innovative to the table.
Sai Kabir is both the writer and director of this film, and after experiencing his creative choices, one can't help but wonder about his lack of originality. There isn't a single scene, dialogue, or frame that feels new or inspired. Furthermore, Kangna Ranaut, who serves as the film's producer, must have had first-hand knowledge of how the film industry operates. It is baffling that she agreed to invest in this project, leaving one to question her decision-making process.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui portrays the character of Sheru, a junior artist who arranges roles for other junior artists and aspiring actresses. One can only hope that Siddiqui takes away the same level of dedication from this character and applies it to his future film choices. His recent selection of romantic roles has been a major setback, comparable to Prabhas' career downgrade. If he continues down this path and accepts roles in such mediocre films, audiences may shy away from watching his movies. I assure you, I am not joking in the slightest. It is worth mentioning that he has also taken on projects like "Noorani Face" and "Spoken Bangles," which fall under the same category of "romantic" films.
Avneet Kaur makes her debut in the film industry with "Tiku Weds Sheru." While her character doesn't offer much to discuss, she manages to survive this ill-fated introduction. If you suspect that frustration is creeping into my tone, you are absolutely correct. To truly comprehend my agony, I implore you to witness the disaster that is "Tiku Weds Sheru." The storytelling in this film is worse than B-grade, and it contributes to the current deplorable state of Hindi cinema.
If we were to dissect the film scene by scene, we would waste a significant amount of time. I have no desire to invest that time in negativity. To put it succinctly, "Tiku Weds Sheru" is a niche film that is utterly nonsensical. That is an indisputable fact.
